A retrospective covering a decade of Herbaliser releases on Ninja Tune, Herbal Tonic draws from releases across the South West London duo’s tenure at the label.
These two producers (Jake Wherry and Ollie Teeba) turn out dextrous hip hop variations from the ’70s spy thriller funk of ‘The Missing Suitcase’ to the scratch-laden jazz of ‘Mr Chombee Has The Flaw’, but this wouldn’t be a proper selection of The Herbaliser‘s music if to didn’t include some of their key collaborations, and sure enough, the likes of MF Doom, Roots Manuva and Jean Grae all put in star turns.
